Lewis & Clark and Custer's Last Stand landmarks to the east
. Head 15 miles east to Montana's largest city, Billings, and further to the most prominent Lewis and Clark landmark, Pompey's Pillar. Little Bighorn Battlefield, once called Custer's Battlefield, site of the most famous Indian battle of all time, is less than an hour's drive away.

Canyon Creek seven miles to the north
. This battlfield, listed on the historic Nez Perce trail, is the site of the battle fought between Nez Perce Indians led by Chief Joseph and the U.S. Cavalry led by Col. Samuel Sturgis. The Friends of Canyon Creek are working to get this site developed with a walk-through display, parking, and a shelter. The Nez Perce Tribal Veterans travel to Canyon Creek around the time of September 13th of each year from Lapwai, Idaho in order to conduct a memorial at this site.

Fort Peck to the northeast
. This is the nation's largest earth-filled dam and home to some of the best fishing in the west.

Big Horn Canyon and Yellowtail Resevoir to the south
. Here you'll find the majestic Big Horn Canyon that holds Yellowtail Reservoir, unique for its sheer beauty and and adventure for boaters. Below that, is the river some call the finest trout stream in the world — the Bighorn!

. Recapture the eras of cowboys, copper kings, bandits and Vigilantes throughout Montana's ghost towns, monuments, museums and tours.
